Science,Theology

Something to think about…

In chapter six of R.J. Rushdoony’s Mythology of Science we come to this gem which is well worth pondering today:

“Evolution is not a science but a religious faith which has taken over the sciences and rules them dogmatically.  And yet, evolution, which rests on chaos, is supported by men whose sciences presuppose God and His eternal decree.  Evolution requires chance, whereas schience rests on absolutely determined factors and on causality.  The doctrine of evolution is thus basiscally hostile to science.”

Did I mention that Dr. Rushdoony wrote this book in 1967?

In the Lamb,

John

  1. Tony Waters says:

I think that this is why the evolutionary biologist Steven Jay Gould called science and religion “non-overlapping Magisteria!”

    • John says:

When you face the fact that we are all creatures who have to start somewhere, there is a sense that you could say that the magisteria part is correct, but for the Christian they completely overlap.

You might enjoy my sermon from today where I talked about the truth of the Bible verses the truth of evolution.
